This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, free anyone, post bond, or pull an official booking record. Contact the government office that created the record.
Choose the Record Holder
Franklin County uses more than one custody system. Confirm the facility before sending a request. The Sheriff holds Franklin County Jail records. WVRJ controls records made at the regional jail. VADOC handles state custody and state release files, while the courts hold their own orders and case records.

Sheriff record-request form
The form lists $14 per hour for added work after the first half hour.
The Sheriff's official pages should be checked for the current phone and office hours before calling or visiting. A Franklin County Jail booking or release request belongs here unless WVRJ created the custody record.

WVRJ Records and FOIA route
WVRJ's live lookup addresses current incarceration, not a historical released-person list. Ask Records for the existing final booking, release, or transfer entry when the web result no longer shows the person.

Facilities, offices, and state records routing
District 37 is a community-supervision office, not a jail. VADOC central routes state custody, release, and institutional matters. Use the VADOC locator first when a Franklin County case led to a state sentence.

Use Franklin County and Rocky Mount when choosing a court. The independent City of Franklin is a different Virginia jurisdiction. The General District Court covers misdemeanor and preliminary matters, while the Circuit Court holds felony and final-order records within its jurisdiction.
For common routes:
- Use the home page for a released person and release-record request steps.
- Check parole and probation for VADOC District 37 supervision.
- Use the 24-hour release page for the documented local recent-release fallback.
- Check a projected release date or register through the VINELink check when those sources fit.
- Choose the facility page in the footer when the person may be at Franklin Jail, WVRJ, VADOC, BOP, or ICE.
For a federal sentence, use the BOP locator. A federal pretrial matter may instead require the federal docket, USMS, and the holding facility. For immigration custody, use ICE ODLS and official ERO routing. Those federal systems do not share the Sheriff's or VADOC records office.
